You can provide a rich, deep theological training program to your local church or Christian organization with cohorts facilitated by your members and it can be administrated through Porterbrook Austin.
Soma Austin Community Church, the local organizing church for Porterbrook Austin, is using the program’s flexibility to train and equip their members, Group Leaders, Deacons & Elders, Church-Planters and in their Internships. If you are interested in partnering with Porterbrook Austin in training & equipping your members and leaders we could help you to create local church-based Learning Cohorts of your own that run in conjunction with the main program.
This program won’t pull your members and leaders out of your church, their roles in the church, or their work to join a seminary training program. And it won’t leave them alone to wade through a self-paced, self-study program where they study in isolation and potentially drop because self-paced, self-study is hard to maintain alone.
Porterbrook Austin is biblical, practical, relational, contextual, flexible and affordable. The program consists of Fall, Winter & Spring 9-week quarters with a mix of self-study and supported learning through quarterly seminars, online support and in pairing you with a learning cohort team so you won’t be left alone. Each course requires about 6-8 pages of reading and one hour of study each week.

There are several moving components to pricing for church and Christian organization leaders who want to participate with Porterbrook Austin in providing theological education for their church community or organization. Some variables include number of people, number of courses and whether the costs is subsidized by the church or organization or paid fully by those who use the courses.
